Spring is on the horizon. Flocks of Canada geese have
been spotted as have robins and other feathered friends. Soon, gardening
magazines will be dusted off and pulled from shelves. Lawn ornaments,
bicycles and fishing rods will be retrieved from the garage, and
greenhouses will be bustling with springtime activity. Winter clothes will
be stowed away till next year, summer clothes to be stored in their place.
At Churchill Mansion we have opened our doors early.
Our first event was the annual St. Patricks Day Trivia
with Phil Demille which drew thirty-nine eager participants. The group
enjoyed a cande-light dinner in a St. Patricks Day atmosphere, surrounded
by green decor and live entertainment by Phil Demille. Guests dined to
Irish music and feasted on corned beef and cabbage and other Irish fare
prepared by Gertie. Many thanks to Jack and Gretchen Stephenson from the
Boston area for their help throughout the evening.
Upcoming events include a two-day girls escape weekend
for a group traveling from the valley, and a murder mystery weekend with
thirty participants from Halifax is expected to take place during March.
Murder mystery participants will arrive at Churchill Mansion after
participating in their 11th Annual HI Spring Adventure Road Rally in
Yarmouth. The Mansion will be the final destination point for this group
where a murder mystery weekend will take place.
We are looking forward to our usual spring events which include weddings
family reunions, anniversaries and birthday parties. Also we are planning
a psychic fair during May.
Churchill Mansion's episode of Rescue Mediums is currently being shown is
many parts of the world. The feedback has been very positive and has
increased our web traffic immensely. Those involved in the production of
the series continue to visit and speak of the mansion in a very positive
way. A spring visit from Christine and Jackie, psychics who do house calls
and stars of the show are planning a spring visit.
The Last Word
We are now planning an eventful year, and look forward
to the upcoming tourism season. There is still time to book your special
event. It is not too late. A special group package is available for the
convenience of those seeking that special experience.
If there is an event or activity which you would like
to see offered, by all means contact us for consideration.
Have a great spring.
