March 2006

Traditionally, Churchill Mansion closes during the cold winter months. New Year’s Eve is the last major annual event to officially end the year. However, 2005 went out with a bang; things never ‘let up,’ so we decided to keep the ball rolling and have some more fun. We even kept our 12-ft Pine Christmas tree up until February.

January

In January, we decided to bring together those of the Churchill Mansion family. This was the first social of its kind in the history of The Mansion.

Many friendships have been formed at The Mansion, and in many cases, guests have found lifelong partners here.

Like every community, there is an interesting variety of people who make life no less than interesting. The Mansion Community is no different. Some of the regular friends include Reiki healers, psychics, school teachers, students, parents, and of course, people who are searching for a sensible interpretation of reality itself. Regardless of one's lifestyle, we found the latter to be the common denominator amongst our regular visitors. Many a philosophical conversation has been held in front of the fireplace or in the candle-lit banquet room over a glass of wine, and we thought it would be a good idea to bring together those of like-mind.

Guests mingled over refreshments, chatted in big comfy chairs, and roasted by the fireplace. No this is not a-good-time-was-had-by-all column. We are getting to the good part.

As the evening drew to a close, it was suggested that 'Mansion Lovers' perhaps gather once a month. Then to take it further, it was suggested that perhaps a Mansion Inn Club be formed in order to bring those together who have visited and loved the Mansion over the past 25 years. Also, it is interesting to note that nearly all visitors have a common ground, a factor which would contribute to the groundwork of such an endeavor.

As we seriously lay the foundation for a Mansion Inn Club, we would like to invite your input. We look forward to your thoughts, ideas, and visions.
